2.2 Health & Profile Information (Required for TDEE Calculation)

To provide core functions of the app — including TDEE estimation, calorie deficit calculation, metabolic modelling, and progress insights — Burn Balance requires:

• Gender
• Height
• Weight

These values are required during onboarding, profile setup, or use of key features.

They may be updated by you at any time.

2.3 Nutrition and Wellness Information (User-Provided)

You may manually log:

• Food entries (calories, macros, meal descriptions)
• Daily weight entries
• Activity-level estimates
• Wellness goals or targets

Burn Balance is a wellness tool, not a medical device.

We do not collect or analyse clinical health data.

2.4 Apple Health / HealthKit Data (If Enabled by You)

Burn Balance integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) to enhance accuracy and user experience.

If you grant permission, Burn Balance may read and write specific categories of HealthKit data.

We only access or write data that you explicitly approve in iOS settings.

We Read (with your permission):

• Active Energy Burned
• Basal Energy Burned
• Step Count
• Body Mass (Weight)
• Height

This data is used for calorie burn calculations, daily expenditure estimation, activity fallback modelling, and profile setup.

We Write (with your permission):

• Body Mass (Weight) — entries you log
• Dietary Energy Consumed — calorie intake you log
• Dietary Protein
• Dietary Carbohydrates
• Dietary Fat Total

These nutrition entries are written to Apple Health only when you choose to log food in Burn Balance.

HealthKit Compliance

We fully comply with Apple's HealthKit policies:

• We do not use Apple Health data for advertising
• We do not sell Apple Health data
• We do not share Apple Health data with analytics providers
• HealthKit data is used only to provide or improve health features in Burn Balance

You may revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through your device settings.

Apple's Role

Apple is not responsible for the handling or accuracy of HealthKit data shared with Burn Balance.

2.5 Automatically Collected Information

When you use our Services, we may automatically collect:

• Device type and operating system
• App version
• IP address (general region only)
• Diagnostic logs (crash reports)
• Usage events (for performance, not tracking)

We do not collect precise GPS geolocation.

2.6 AI-Related Information

If you use Burn Balance's AI features (nutrition suggestions, calorie estimation, explanations):

• The prompts or questions you submit may be processed by our AI service providers
• Prompts are encrypted in transit
• Prompts are retained only as long as necessary to generate a response

We do not use AI prompt data to train public models.

We do not send HealthKit data to AI providers unless you manually include it in a prompt.
